Brigitte Anne-Marie Bardot born 28 September 1934 is a French actress, singer and fashion model, who later became an animal rights activist. She was one of the best known sex symbols of the 1950s and 1960s and was widely referred to by her initials, B.B.

A Myth of Saint-Tropez

As the first event of the year, the Museum of Gendarmerie and Cinema features an new exhibition dedicated to Brigitte Bardot with exclusive photographs. To discover until January, 14th 2018.

Brigitte Bardot and Saint-Tropez... more than a love story, it is an indivisible relationship between the iconic star of the 1960's and the town where she settled in 1958. We can even think that BB discovered Saint-Tropez, small fishing port of the Mediterranean, in 1956 when the "And God created woman" movie was made.

Inaugurated in June 2016, the museum dedicated a key place in its permanent exhibition, located at the second floor, in the area reserved for the actresses, where posters, photos, excerpts of movies and songs and a Marianne bust will portray her.

From February, 1st 2017, the temporary exhibition dedicated to Brigitte Bardot is featured in a part of the ground floor, with exclusive pictures taken by local and amateur photographers, showing the most famous French icon in her local setting, in places that shaped Saint-Tropez in the 1960's : bars and cafés such as Le Gorille, Café des Arts, Club 55, Voom Voom, the Choses shop. etc. alongside other celebrities such as Jacques Charrier, Françoise Sagan, Roger Vadim, Eddie Barclay, Louis de Funès (during the making of the "Gendarme et les Gendarmettes" film) and also the Gipsy Kings (a gypsy jazz group)... Other pictures show the involvement of Brigitte Bardot in the fight for animal rights.
