On Friday 18 September, the eve of the European Heritage Days, schools, from kindergarten to the end, are invited to discover their heritage, under the guidance of their teachers. Initiated in 2019 by the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of National Education and Youth, the operation Look up! builds on existing initiatives, such as Children of Heritage, supported by the Councils of Architecture, Planning and Environment (CAUE), and organized by long-standing partners in youth outreach programs.
The European Heritage Days are organized by the Ministry of Culture. Placed under the patronage of the Council of Europe and the European Commission, they receive the assistance of public and private owners of historic monuments. They benefit from the involvement of the Centre of National Monuments, the network of Cities and Countries of Art and History, the Heritage Foundation, the network of CAUE and heritage preservation associations present since the very first edition: the Old French Houses and the Historical House. They are supported by numerous financial, visibility and media partners.
