The European Night of Museums will take place on Saturday 16 May 2020. That evening, many museums will open their doors free of charge throughout France and Europe from nightfall until midnight. Guided and enlightened tours, playful tours, workshops, screenings, tastings, live shows, exceptional entertainment will give a wide audience a museum experience that is both convivial and fun.
This year will mark the 16th edition of the event. In 2019, the event mobilized more than 3200 museums in 30 European countries, including 1200 in France, which welcomed more than 2 million visitors. Since its launch in 2005, the European Museum Night has attracted a growing number of visitors to a growing number of museums each year. The success with young audiences has been confirmed.
Operation “The Class, the Work!”
The European Museum Night is organized by the Ministry of Culture. It benefits from the patronage of UNESCO, the Council of Europe and ICOM and from numerous institutional and media partnerships.
