La Mole 2

"Remember to live" is the motto written on the small charming church of La Mole. A motto that could be the one of other remarkable villages of the bay such as Le Plan de la Tour and Le Rayol-Canadel.

La Mole : following in the footsteps of the Little Prince

Close to the sea, surrounded by beautiful landscapes, La Mole offers several routes through the Maures hills. Don't miss the picturesque Route des Crêtes (527m) and its scenic views as well as the Col du Canadel (267m) that reaches the coast.

On the top of the hill (north of the actual village), you will discover the ruins of the first village of La Mole on the rock of Sainte-Madeleine. There is a medieval castle (11th century) with a wonderful park that is not open to public.

Antoine de Saint-Exupéry lived with his grandparents in that castle. He enjoyed beautiful landscapes and nature during his childhood, and this probably inspired him to write The Little Prince. La Mole has now an international airport that welcome wealthy and famous people coming here to enjoy Saint-Tropez lifestyle.

Le Plan de la Tour : so close and so far from the world

The road which leads you to  Le Plan de la Tour does not get you anywhere else. You will find quietness in this provencal village that is a real haven of peace located close to theother villages and the bay of saint-Tropez. Surrounded by pine forests and oak trees, it is the starting point of nice walks. You will appreciate the gentle lifestyle in the shade of plane trees. Le Plan de la Tour is famous because there is the second home of the actor Johnny Depp and the singer Vanessa Paradis located here...

Le Rayol-Canadel : a village "in the sea"

Nestled in the rocks on the shoreline, it overlooks the Mediterranean. Creeks, capes and bays with fine sandy beaches, cork oak trees, mimosa trees, luxury estates ; among them, the Domaine du Rayol, built during La Belle Epoque, that hosts now beautiful botanical gardens from several parts of the world. A must see during your stay in the Saint-Tropez bay!
