The Bertaud Belieu wine estate is located in Gassin and includes 65 hectares of vines. The estate covered more than 600 hectares at the time of the Lords of Bertaud in 1340.
The Maison de Châteauneuf implying prosperity was one of the eldest noble line for many centuries. Jean de Châteauneuf was Lord of Bertaud from Gassin (aka Gaffin) in the 15th century. A part of the estate belonged to the family until 1880 and in 1889 the two estates merged into the Bertaud Belieu estate deriving from the river which runs alongside the village of Gassin, in the Saint-Tropez bay.
Fabien GODRIE is one of the youngest cellar masters of the estates in the Saint-Tropez peninsula. He studied at Purpan School in Toulouse and obtained his engineering degree
in agriculture. Then, he studied in the Centre de Recherche et d’Expérimentation sur le Vin Rosé in Vidauban and went back to the Bertaud Belieu wine estate in 2008 to join his father.
He took over management of the estate when his father retired.
As he grew up in Bertaud Belieu, he perfectly knows it. Thanks to this deep knowledge of the region, his technical skills and inheritance, he produces high quality wines.
