International Chess Day

International Chess Day_Saint-Tropez

International Chess Day, celebrated on July 20, marks the founding of FIDE in Paris in 1924. It promotes the game of chess throughout the world as an educational and cultural tool, and as a means of bringing people together.
To mark International Chess Day, our club is organizing a friendly event open to everyone, whatever their level of play - beginners, amateurs, curious or experienced players. The day, celebrated on July 20, is a great opportunity to discover or rediscover chess in a relaxed, open-air atmosphere on the Place de l'Ormeau.

Throughout the day, chessboards will be available to the public. Everyone is welcome to come and play freely, take part in friendly games, or simply observe and learn the rules of the game with the help of our members. No registration is necessary - just come along with the desire to play and share a good time!

This event is for all ages: children, adults, families, seniors... Chess is a universal, intergenerational game, accessible to all and recognized for its educational and social virtues.

Information stands will also be set up to enable the public to find out more about chess in our town and region. We'll be presenting our club's activities, where you can play regularly, upcoming tournaments and learning opportunities for both children and adults.

Join us as we celebrate World Chess Day together, in a warm and inclusive atmosphere, and who knows... maybe you'll start a passion that will stay with you for a long time!

Free of charge.
