30th anniversary of the Maison des papillons (Butterfly House)
From 2 december 2017 to 4 january 2018
Collection of beetles and butterflies
Thirty years have passed since the inauguration of the Butterfly Museum (Maison des Papillons) in Saint-Tropez. Thirty years of awe and wonder felt for the natural world and the most beautiful butterflies. To celebrate this event, the Museum has decided to show the rarest and most precious butterflies never seen before (alongside the large white, the swallowtail, the peacock butterfly) : the mountain Apollo butterfly (Parnassius apollo) that lives in Tibet, China and Afghanistan ; the most beautiful butterflies of Provence (Monarch butterfly) or the hackberry emperor found in Vaucluse.
