Louis Vuitton and the Old Masters’ paintings
In collaboration with artist Jeff Koons, Louis Vuitton is rewriting the fashion codes by featuring a collection inspired by 5 art masterpieces.

A new collaboration

For some years now, Louis Vuitton has been confirmed its interest in art by collaborating with renowned contemporary artists such as Takashi Murakami, Richard Prince, Yayoi Kusama, Stephen Sprouse, Cindy Sherman, James Turrell, Olafur Eliasson and Daniel Buren, for orders, creation of new products or fashion show staging. A new way to discover art, turning Maison Louis Vuitton into a sponsor or an exhibition organizer. This close relationship between Louis Vuitton and art reached its climax in 2014 during the inauguration of Louis Vuitton Foundation in Paris, designed and created by architect Frank Gehry. For the new collaboration with Louis Vuitton, New-York based artist Jeff Koons has brought imagery from his longstanding ‘Gazing Ball’ paintings, a series of large scale hand painted reproductions of works by old masters to a range of Louis Vuitton items.

Collection 2017

Works from Da Vinci, Titian, Rubens, Fragonard and Van Gogh were adapted on legendary handbags such as Speedy, Keepall and Neverfull. The latest collaboration remixes the iconic artworks of the old masters on exclusive bags and accessories and presents them in a way that encourages new interpretations. Jeff Koons is turning great art back into popular culture and at the same time, is turning the old masters into fashion must-haves. Now, people will see masterpieces walking out of the museums into modern lives.
