The specific characteristics of the Peninsula...
Its geographic location and the composition of the soil create a unique terroir and give our wines a particularly enjoyable personality.
Climate
The Gulf of Saint-Tropez has many vineyards located within a 10km radius of the shores, benefitting from a sunny, warm and dry Mediterranean climate.
Nearly 3,000 hours of sunshine per year, particularly high temperatures in summer and significant differences in landforms. Also, rainfall, at times extremely heavy, in autumn and spring. The summers are dry and hot, sometimes scorching inland, and refreshed by the winds.
Soil composition
The exceptional location of the Gulf of Saint-Tropez, on the border between the sandy limestone Maures Massif, and the sandy clay Raphael coast results in a clay loam producing a dozen grape varieties such as tibouren (endemic), grenache, cinsault, syrah, mourvedre and rolle...
The plots that are most exposed to the sun are used for Red wines whilst those with more limestone, better for expressing the mineral element are used for White wines.
