Gastronomy & terroir
The Bertaud Belieu wine estate is located in Gassin and includes 65 hectares of vines. The estate covered more than 600 hectares at the time of the Lords of Bertaud in 1340.
The Maison de Châteauneuf implying prosperity was one of the eldest noble line for many centuries. Jean de Châteauneuf was Lord of Bertaud from Gassin ( aka Gaffin) in the 15th century.
A part of the estate belonged to the family until 1880 and in 1889 the two estates merged into the Bertaud Belieu estate deriving from the river which runs alongside the village of Gassin, in the Saint-Tropez bay.
