Tribute Dans le sillage de Paul Signac

TRIBUTE This year, the Société Nautique de Saint-Tropez with the complicity of the City of Saint-Tropez and the Musée de l'Annonciade pays tribute to Paul Signac, who contributed to the international reputation of the village.
The artist at the origin of the pointillist movement made the landscapes of the town his muse through several world-famous paintings. Formerly President of the Société Nautique de Saint-Tropez between 1908 and 1911, his love of sailing can be felt in many of his works.

7 MAY
To celebrate the 130th anniversary of Paul Signac's arrival in the city by sailboat in 1892, a dozen boats from the Société Nautique Saint-Tropez will follow the same route as the painter: departure from Sète on 7 May 2022 to the port of Saint-Tropez, passing through Marseille, Toulon and Port Cros.

The clubs and towns of each stopover will welcome the participants, also celebrating the painter's passage through these places:
Société Nautique de Sète, Société Nautique de Marseille, Société Nautique de Toulon and Port Cros.

4 MAY
In Saint-Tropez, several events will be proposed: projection of a documentary film; Signac collector on May 3rd at the initiative of the friends of the Musée de l'Annonciade and in the presence of the painter's great-great granddaughter, Charlotte Hellman.

5 MAY
Exhibition at the Musée de l'Annonciade from 5 May 2022. A silk collector's scarf, based on Signac's painting The Storm, will be produced in limited quantities.

9 May : Departure from Marseille
10 May : Departure from Toulon
13 May : Departure from Port Cros - Saint-Tropez.
