A "Phillipe Noiret Festival" at the Star Following in the footsteps of Michel Galabru, Romy Schneider and Alain Delon, from 2022 to 2024, the town will be paying tribute this autumn to another French film legend: Philippe Noiret.
Five films are dedicated to him as part of the 4th edition of the "La Renaissance fait son cinéma" event, renamed "Le Star fait son cinéma" to coincide with the renovations at the Renaissance.

With the support of the Association Cinéma-In de Ramatuelle, represented by Jacqueline Franjou, and in collaboration with Studio Canal, the town of Saint-Tropez is organizing the fourth edition of the festival, renamed "Le Star fait son cinéma" in tribute to Philippe Noiret, from November 7 to 11. Every evening at 8pm at the Star cinema, the festival offers five free screenings of "great classics" from the filmography of the man who played the unforgettable Doctor Dandieu in Le Vieux fusil. In the presence of Frédérique Noiret, actress and daughter of the actor.
Friday November 7: "Coup de torchon", by Bertrand Tavernier, with Isabelle Huppert and Jean-Pierre Marielle.
Lucien Cordier, the only policeman in a small African town, is a weak man. His wife cheats on him, the pimps openly provoke him, the representative of law and order is the laughing stock of the village. Rebuked by his superior, Lucien goes on a killing spree.

Saturday 8: "L'Horloger de Saint-Paul", by Bertrand Tavernier, with Jean Rochefort and Jacques Denis.
Abandoned by his wife, Michel Descombes, a watchmaker in Lyon, raises his son, Bernard, alone. One day, the police come to search his home. Surprised, the father learns that his son is on the run with his girlfriend, having killed a factory guard. Michel realizes that he doesn't really know Bernard. When Bernard is arrested, Mr Descombes does everything in his power to establish a real relationship with him.

Sunday 10: "Le Juge et l'Assassin", by Bertrand Tavernier, with Michel Galabru and Jean-Paul Brialy.
At the end of the 19th century, Joseph Bouvier is dismissed from the army because of his violent excesses. He decides to take revenge on anyone who crosses his path in the Ardèche. Not far away, Judge Rousseau, fascinated by the case, takes part in the investigation and sets out on Bouvier's trail. Determined to put him behind bars, the manhunt begins.

Monday 11: "La vieille fille", by Jean-Pierre Blanc, with Annie Girardot and Marthe Keller.
A guest at a Cassis hotel, Gabriel Marcassus, a confirmed bachelor, gradually makes friends with Muriel Bouchon, another resident of the establishment, who is also single.

Tuesday 12: "Que la fête commence", by Bertrand Tavernier, with Jean Rochefort and Jean-Pierre Marielle.
On the death of Louis XIX, the latter's nephew, Duke Philippe d'Orléans, assumes the regency until Louis XV comes of age. However, the duke is a most debauched man, swayed by bad advice.
