Christmas in Saint-Tropez

Each winter, as the holiday season approaches, Saint-Tropez transforms into a shimmering haven, immersing residents and visitors alike in a magical atmosphere. Known for its vibrant summer ambiance, the village comes alive just as beautifully in December, offering a unique setting to celebrate Christmas by the Mediterranean Sea.

At nightfall, the streets light up with sparkling decorations, enhancing façades, squares, and iconic alleyways. The bell tower, the port, and the famous Place des Lices become enchanting backdrops for a winter stroll that delights both young and old. Illuminations bring warmth and conviviality, turning each walk into an unforgettable festive experience.

Throughout the month, a rich programme of events brings the village to life: Provençal nativity scene, Christmas exhibitions, horse-drawn carriage rides, little train, mini farm, street performances, gospel concerts, and candlelit concerts brighten the festive season. The ice rink, fireworks, and the much-awaited meeting with Santa Claus add even more magic for children and families.

Charming wooden chalets line the port, offering a variety of delights: local specialties, wine and seasonal treats, warm clothing, artisanal creations, and original souvenirs. It is the perfect opportunity to enjoy a waffle or a hot chocolate, find an authentic gift, or simply soak up the friendly atmosphere.

A highlight for all: Santa Claus’s arrival by boat aboard the Tartane on December 24 at 6:30 pm. True to tradition, he docks at the port of Saint-Tropez to the applause and smiles of excited children—an emotional and joyful moment that captures the unique spirit of a seaside Christmas.

Christmas in Saint-Tropez is a time for sharing and celebration. With its lights, activities, and flavours, the village embraces the holiday season with elegance, warmth, and authenticity.
