Conference - Les Conversations d'Agnès with Didier Van Cauwelaert
The 18/04/2026
This literary Rendez-Vous, conceived and imagined for the Hôtel de Paris Saint-Tropez, began in 2016 in the flower-filled salon on the fourth floor (which soon became too small) and welcomed Lebanese Fadia Otte, President of the Safe Word Peace association, for a Conversation that took place on September 21, 2016, International Day of Peace.
Who could have foreseen that - ten years later - we would be starting this new season in the midst of conflict. All the more reason to give priority, through engagement, to unarmed battles aimed at making the world a better place. More intelligent, of course, would say the brilliant Didier van Cauwelaert, more loving would breathe the delightful Sarah Chiche, more human would claim the formidable Ghyslaine Calmels-Bloch, director of the Bardot Foundation and Bernard d'Ormale, its brand new President. More spiritual would be the luminous pianist Claire-Marie Le Guay; freer would be Catherine Millet, founder of Art Press, free from convention; more demanding would be that lover of texts, Pierre Arditi. Finally, more respectful of the environment, whether it's the Grande Bleue, for which Maud Fontenoy fights tirelessly, or the belle verte.
Both are closely linked.
Last but not least, Alix Girod de l'Ain will be on hand to present her new opus:
"Saint-Tropez expliqué à ceux qui disent Saint-Trop'" and share with us the unconditional love that unites us here: Love for our village.
Saint-Tropez, our passion," says Sylvie Siri, who was confirmed as Mayor on March 17. Once again, a woman of commitment.
I'd like to end with a special word for Simone Dray, a woman of commitment if there ever was one, who has turned her hotel into a veritable cultural platform where all talents can express themselves, each committed to what is the value above all else: Life.
