Sustainable management and environmental certifications

The Port of Saint-Tropez has obtained two major distinctions:

• Clean Ports (2023)
• Clean Ports Active in Biodiversity (2025)

These certifications recognise exemplary resource management and a significant reduction in environmental impact.

Waste management and resource conservation

In 2025, more than 148 tonnes were collected, reflecting the effectiveness of the system with a significant increase compared to 2024 (52 tonnes), thanks to better organisation and greater awareness among boaters.

Since 2012, a comprehensive action plan has enabled:   The introduction of a free waste collection service on board. With regard to water, after the increase observed in 2024 due to particular climatic conditions (Saharan rains, high summer temperatures) 2025 saw a stabilisation, even a slight decrease, thanks to awareness-raising about eco-friendly practices, the use of water-saving equipment such as automatic shut-off taps, and the implementation of a proactive policy to detect and repair water leaks throughout the port network.   These efforts illustrate responsible and exemplary management of water and resources.   🔗 Zero water waste target

Preserving marine biodiversity

Biodiversity is at the heart of the port’s activities:

• Installation of more than 50 Biohuts, artificial nurseries for fish
• Ecological measures to limit the impact on the seabed
• Regular clean-up operations with divers

These measures help to restore port ecosystems and raise awareness among users of the richness of the marine environment.

Sustainable innovations and technologies

The port is investing in the solutions of tomorrow:

• Charging stations for electric ships and vehicles
• Waste collection at the quayside since 2024
• Eco-designed pontoon project incorporating rainwater recovery and renewable energies
• Membership of the international SEA INDEX initiative to reduce the energy intensity of yachts

The Meltem Pontoon is an emblematic example of this green transition.
