29th MASTERS OF CHAMPIONS

Pétanque and Golf Tournaments from October 16 to 18, 2026, reserved for champions from all sports who have, at a minimum, won a national championship title in their respective sports. Many world and Olympic champions will be in attendance.
The Masters des Champions was created in 1996 on the initiative of Bernard Béguin, a multiple French Rally Champion.
It is a prestigious event that brings together numerous elite athletes from diverse backgrounds with exceptional track records, all of whom hold at least one championship title in their respective sports.
For more than 25 years, the Masters des Champions has been an unmissable annual event during which these sports stars—enthusiasts of golf and pétanque—compete in a friendly spirit on the fairways of the Var region, as well as at the Place des Lices in Saint-Tropez.
France’s greatest champions (who play golf) have already participated in this tournament. The list of winners speaks for itself: Alain Boghossian, David Ginola, Christophe Dugarry, Christophe Pinna, Annie Famose, Mansour Bahrami, and Bruno Saby have all won it, facing stiff competition from participants such as—depending on the year—Laura Flessel, Guy Drut, Alain Prost, Michel Platini, Henri Leconte, Jacques Laffite, Philippe Candeloro, Florence Masnada, Gwendal Peizerat, and others…
Since 2017, the Saint-Tropez City Hall has allowed these champions (about forty each year) to gather on Saturday afternoons at the Place des Lices to compete with pétanque balls in hand, much to the delight of the spectators in attendance.
This year’s event will take place from October 15 to 18, featuring numerous activities in Saint-Tropez and culminating in the pétanque tournament on Saturday afternoon starting at 5 p.m.
