Johann Sebastian BACH: Music for Violin and Cello
The 10/01/2027
Sylvie BONET pursued her advanced musical studies at the Conservatoire National de Région de Versailles. There, she earned three Gold Medals and then two Advanced Performance Awards in music theory, violin, and chamber music.
She began teaching at music schools at a very young age and was appointed an assistant at the CNR in Versailles in 1994; the following year, she earned her State Diploma as a violin teacher. She was granted tenured status in this position in 1996.
Passionate about chamber and orchestral music, she explored all ensemble formats during this period—from sonatas to sextets—and performed regularly with various orchestras until she joined the Toulon Opera.
As concertmaster of the Toulon and Var Chamber Orchestra, a member of the Giono Trio and the Con Fuoco Quartet, she has been a full-time violinist with the Toulon-Provence-Méditerranée Opera Orchestra since January 2000.
Born into a family of musicians, Manuel CARTIGNY began playing music at a very young age, learning several instruments. He eventually turned to the cello, studying it at the Versailles Conservatory in Michel TOURNUS’s class, where he earned his first prize in cello as well as in chamber music.
At age 23, he joined the Toulon Opera Orchestra. Passionate about chamber music, he founded numerous ensembles. In 2000, Manuel CARTIGNY became principal cellist of the TPM Opera Orchestra. Since then, he has performed regularly as a soloist and has been invited to play cello with orchestras in Monaco, Marseille, Avignon, and elsewhere.
He has several recordings to his credit, including the sonatas of L. van Beethoven and the suites of Johann Sebastian Bach.
A member of the Académie du Var, Manuel CARTIGNY is also the artistic director of the Toulon and Var Chamber Orchestra.
