Maud Fontenoy: Focus on Trust!
Last but not least, with this magnificent Prix du Titre weekend—featuring two distinguished and talented winners, Chantal Thomas and Benjamin Patou—just coming to a close, we are delighted to welcome you back for a new and final “Conversation Engagée” with Maud Fontenoy.
A sailor, but also—and above all—since the creation of her Foundation, an activist for the cause of the oceans, a multifaceted educator of future generations, a guardian angel for the “Forgotten of the Sea” through this new event organized with Child Welfare Services, taking place in Saint-Tropez at the start of the season, author of some thirty books, a central figure in the highly informative documentaries produced with Canal+— “Bleu, an Ocean of Solutions”—and finally, the patron of our joint initiative in support of the oceans and the cultural heritage figures of Saint-Tropez who champion all living things: Saint-Tropez Couleur Bleu.
A wife and mother at the head of a tribe of five children and a magnificent German Shepherd, Abys, who watches over the siblings, Maud returns to us with an essential book: “Cap sur la confiance ” (Larousse), for it is indeed this feeling—or the pursuit of it—that has defined her entire life. Confidence in life, to embark on such adventures; confidence in her “lucky star”—even if it’s that of a mother watching over her daughter from above; and self-confidence, which is often harder to gain when you’re just starting out in life.
It is to these young readers that she speaks in this latest work, with simplicity, conviction, and practical advice, reminding us: “It’s not the storm that keeps you from moving forward—it’s the fear of hoisting the sails.”
So, together—and with high spirits above all—let’s gather for the final weekend of Les Voiles with the one who will always show us the right direction!
