Lecture: “Solar Eclipse on August 12, 2026: Protect Your Eyes!”
The 10/07/2026
On August 12, around 8:30 p.m., a rare cosmic phenomenon—a total solar eclipse—will be visible across parts of Europe, including our region.
Those of you who experienced this phenomenon on August 11, 1999, may recall that the eclipse at that time caused eye and retinal damage in hundreds of people who were unaware of the risks associated with viewing the eclipse without protection.
With this in mind, the City of Saint-Tropez invited Mr. Alain Cirou, national project manager for Eclipse Info 2026, to give a lecture on the subject and to explain the risks involved and the best practices to follow when viewing the eclipse.
