Workshop - When Charcoal Takes Flight

As part of the “Au pied de mon arbre” exhibition, November 4–25 at the BMJ Discover charcoal, a natural material with amazing possibilities!

Create the bird of your dreams by experimenting with lines, shadows, and shades. Using the various techniques explored during the workshop, let your imagination run wild. Your creations can then take flight and find their place in the exhibition’s majestic tree.

Christel Leleu is a painter based in Tourrettes in the Var region, where she opened her studio, Figures Vives, in 2011. For over 20 years, she has been exploring various artistic techniques, including ink, watercolor, acrylic, and charcoal. Her work focuses particularly on expressing life through a spontaneous, sensitive, and expressive approach.

As an educator passionate about sharing her knowledge, she regularly leads workshops to introduce the public to artistic techniques, particularly charcoal drawing, which she loves for its instinctive, playful, and accessible nature.
