Tourist Furnished Accommodation Classification

Offering your clients a Classified Tourist Furnished Rental means promising them an exceptional experience

The classification of furnished tourist rentals is based on strict criteria, guaranteeing quality and comfort for your guests. Awarded by an organization accredited by the French Accreditation Committee (COFRAC) or listed under Article L. 324-1 of the French Tourism Code, this prestigious label is valid for five years. At the end of this period, simply renew your request to continue offering a recognized and valued hospitality experience.

3 good reasons to apply for classification

  • Enhance your offer: provide tenants with a reliable guarantee of quality and a reassuring benchmark.
  • Gain visibility: your property will be listed on the official website.
  • Enjoy tax benefits: classified rentals are eligible for a 71% tax allowance under the “micro BIC” regime, compared with only 50% for non-classified rentals.

STEPS TO FOLLOW

1 – Declaration of activity with the Business Formalities Center (CFE)

If you have not yet declared your furnished rental activity, you must do so with the Business Formalities Center (CFE). This involves completing and submitting the P0i form, which is mandatory for all non-professional furnished rental activities — even if you only rent out your main residence for fewer than 120 days per year.

This free declaration must be sent to the Commercial Court Registry. It allows you to automatically obtain your SIREN number, SIRET number, and APE code, all issued by INSEE.

More information and access to the form: service-public.fr

2 – Declaration at the Town Hall

Every furnished tourist rental, whether a primary or secondary residence, must be declared in advance at the town hall. This process provides a 13-digit registration number, mandatory on all rental listings (websites, online platforms, etc.).

If you rent out a secondary residence, or your primary residence for more than 120 days per year, you must also request a change of use from the town hall.

The declaration can be made online at: www.declaloc.fr

3 – How to classify your furnished rental

To obtain classification, you must contact an organization authorized to carry out this type of inspection. Saint-Tropez Tourisme offers this service via its Furnished Accommodation Classification Department.

  • Cecilia Feres
  • Tel. +33 (0)4 94 55 98 50

It is also possible to use another accredited organization. The full list of authorized providers is available [here].

Before the visit, you must prepare a file including:

  • Cerfa form n°11819-03 (mandatory town hall declaration if you rent for more than 120 days/year),
  • the order form,
  • and the payment corresponding to the inspection fee (see prices below).

The complete file is downloadable here:

The inspection visit is carried out by appointment, in the presence of the owner.

The inspection report will be communicated within 30 days.

After the visit, the owner receives the official classification decision.

The classified property can then be listed on the Saint-Tropez Tourisme website by contacting the marketing department: marketing@sainttropeztourisme.com

The owner must display the classification using an official plaque, in accordance with the decree of December 22, 2010.

4 – Classification inspection fees

  • Property under 50 m²: €140 incl. tax
  • Property between 50 and 150 m²: €190 incl. tax
  • Property over 150 m²: €240 incl. tax
  • Re-inspection (if required): €100 incl. tax

5 – Useful information

The inspection is based on the official national standards for furnished tourist rentals, following the verification method defined in the control guide published by Atout France, as well as all official Atout France directives. The control grid is attached and also available at atout-france.fr.

The classification is valid for 5 years.

As a host, you are required to collect the tourist tax from your guests. Since January 1, 2024, this declaration and payment must be made via: sainttropez.taxesejour.fr
